I seriously just made this up on the fly, and it is DANG good!  Don’t act like you’re not impressed 😉

First, a little info: Modern scientific studies show that combining chocolate and berries can double or even triple the amount of antioxidants that get into your blood!  This is kind of important because antioxidants help you not get cancer.

We know that all berries are rich in antioxidants…but the #1 antioxidant rich food is chocolate! Yes, CHOCOLATE! Real chocolate, not Snickers or M&M’s, contains 15x more antioxidants than blue berries, 20x more than green tea, and 30x more than red wine.  Beyond just recognizing the antioxidant level within the food, we also want to know how much of it actually even makes it into your blood stream.  That’s why it’s so cool to know that when you mix berries and chocolate together, their antioxidant power blasts off like Superman and is magnified the way it is because it is increasing the bioavailability of those antioxidants by two or three times their normal amount. So go get you some superfood chocolate and berries into yo’ bloodstream! 🙂

If you don’t have a VitaMix, I feel bad for you.  It’s the most glorious invention ever. EVER.  If you only have a sad, sad blender, go ahead and use that.  Combine ingredients in this order:

1 cup clean water

1/2 – 1 tbs coconut oil (long chain (aka: good for you) fat.  We need fats for neurological health!)

1/2 cup Greek yogurt (small amounts of high quality dairy are ok for many of us)

1/4 cup macadamia nuts

1 scoop of YOR Health SuperGreens powder

1 tsp of Nutrex Hawaii spirulina (even though the yor health supergreens has some spirulina in it, we love the health benefits and always had more separately)

1 tbs organic local honey (Honey is the #1 enzyme food out there as well as a prana concentrater because it involves all forms of energy from the ground up (the soil grows the flowers, the bees get the pollen from the flowers, convert into honey goodness, etc).  Also, honey is a great source of trace minerals.)

1 tbs maca powder (an adaptagenic root known for its dynamic effects of boosting energy, relieving stress, and increasing libido. Hey-ooooh!)

1/4 cup cacao nibs (aka: real chocolate)

1 1/2cups frozen strawberries

*as always, you could throw more superfoods in there, too, if you want, such as: chia seeds, hemp hearts, flax meal, or spirulina.  I normally opt for the primarily based veggie smoothies and juices, but I was inspired to mix it up a bit today after listening to an Institute for Integrative Nutrition lecture by the awesome David Wolfe.

Then, make sure lid is on tight.

Blend.

Pour.

Drink.

Smile 🙂
