Today, did you go within? Did you go to Church? Did you pray? Did you meditate? Did you do yoga? Did you journal? Did you do anything for your spiritual health?
Don’t we all need reminders from time to time? I’m not talking to-do list reminders; I’m talking about touching-in-with-your-soul reminders. Unfortunately, most of us dedicate more time to our to-do lists than the state of our inner selves.
I got a great reminder recently when one of my best friends, Margie, sent me the following excerpt from a “God’s Minute” daily email we both receive.
May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
What a beautiful cue to spend time ruminating more on peace and less on chaos, more on love and less on discontent, more on gratitude and less on wanting, more on acceptance and less on judgment, more on joy and less on disappointment, and more on balance and less on extremes. And oh by the way, if you want to think about and feel those things, all you have to do is trust yourself. When we believe in ourselves, we believe in the good in others…and it’s contagious.
This passage goes hand in hand with the saying “Go within: Everything you need awaits you there.” The answers are there within us. Yes, even God is within us, Mother Earth is within us, certainty is within us, our future is within us. In my opinion, that does not make us God with a capital “G,” but it does make us Divine insofar as that when we love ourselves and love others we are God-like. So, can we be more like God, more like Jesus, more like Buddha, more like Ghandi or Mother Theresa or a priceless mentor we have or one of our spiritual leaders? Can we be our own guru? Can we show ourselves the light within…and find the peace, love, and gratitude there, too? I encourage you to do so. 🙂
With an abundance of gratitude and contentment, sending love and positive energy your way 😉 🙂 Sarah
