“The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” Michelangelo
On this beautiful Sunday evening, after spending time with friends, teaching yoga, and catching up with a bestie on the phone today (after a week of high-intensity self-education, writing, and meetings) I am reminded of a simple truth: I was created for a purpose, and so were all of you.
I was not created to stress and fret.
Neither were you.
I was not created for pain and fear.
Neither were you.
I was not created to judge and scorn (myself or others).
Neither were you.
I was created to be unique
To be love
To be patience
To be kindness
To be acceptance
To be energy and light.
So were you.
Not everyone will “get” it.
That is ok.
Not everyone will “get” you.
That, too, is ok.
You get you.
And that is ok 😉
Grace.
Truth.
Hope.
Trust.
Faith.
Do not let your fear squelch your passions. Instead, endeavor to let your passion fuel action. Tonight, my action was to write this short, simple blog. I have drifted away from one my core loves – writing – as I have been consumed by the business of other tasks. So, instead of telling myself that I shouldn’t write tonight because my fingers feel rusty upon this keyboard, I told myself to start – albeit, again – but to start. Take action. Put letters on this virtual page and share a bit about what I’m thinking tonight. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by all there is to learn, and all there is to do, I am taking a deep breath, sitting back, and drinking in the setting sun….smiling…knowing that this is my life to create…a precious, wild life I cherish, and things I’m doing now are all to make it ever more precious and wild. J
In closing, ask yourself this:
“What is it that you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” -Mary Oliver
