Ever find yourself feeling blah and unmotivated to go for a run or get fresh air even though you know it will make you feel better? Well, a couple weeks ago, I found myself exactly there – stressed out about a decision, achey, tired, and grumpy, but knew I needed to get moving. So, I jumped up, ran to the kitchen, and yanked my juicer out of the cabinets. What I whipped up seriously gave me the healthy, happy boost I needed and fueled one of the best runs I’ve had in a long time.
So, go get some fresh air this weekend. Smile, laugh, socialize, and (you knew it was coming) Just Roll With it! 🙂
I recommend combining all ingredients into a juicer, pouring over ice, drinking 30-60min before your run, then bustin’ loose on the trails!
Use fresh and organic ingredients if at all possible. This is especially important when juicing since you leave the skins on everything.
2 stalks rhubarb
About a thumb’s worth of ginger root
Handful of fresh cilantro
Handful of kale
2 big carrots
2 celery stalks
This juice will ground you (thanks tubers and roots), energize you (carrots and citrus), nourish (oh yes, kale), refresh (cool as a cucumber), and act as an anti-inflammatory (hello cilantro). Win-win-win-win-win, I’d say! 🙂
